It's almost a year since I first met Aoife as a very nervous non driver. Over the course of the lessons, I have seen a massive transformation into a confident and well rounded driver. "Just want to say thanks a million Ray for everything throughout the past year. You have the patience of a saint. I first met Ray this time last year when I started my 12 EDT Lessons. I had no clue about cars and we started off in the train station car park where I learned how to get the car moving. I really love a challenge but Ray really threw me into the deep end as on my second lesson, he had me driving to Killenard. Ray told me he'd take a chance on me and every time I doubted myself, he was quick to knock that out of me. I can't recommend Ray enough, he manages to get every task done while creating a relaxed environment. He has eyes like a hawk and I can assure you he won't miss a thing. I first met Carrie back in June this year and even though she didn't have to do the EDT Lessons due to having her Learner permit before the deadline, she still completed 14 lessons to bring herself to test standard. I first met John way back in April 2014 when he started his EDT Lessons. He completed them in August 2015 and then went off the radar. When John rang me in September this year and said he wanted to start training for his test, I was only too happy to oblige. He was a model student who actually had remembered all of the good habits and kept them up in his every day driving. The mock test on Saturday put him under a lot of pressure and even though he thought he had failed it, he actually passed it with me. The result was no different this morning when he went out on the real thing. A 1st time pass for a good genuine guy who I got along with so well and had some great laughs. "From day one I really enjoyed lessons with Ray. He always had a laugh with you while simultaneously watching you like a hawk. He misses nothing when it comes to your driving, I swear he has eyes in the back of his head. He's very fair in what he expects from you week to week. If he feels you're not practicing enough to better your driving skills, he'll call you out on it but he'll also give you lots of praise when you've improved. I enjoyed every single one of my lessons with him, the environment he makes in the car is great for learning, it feels like you're just driving around with a friend who knows his craft really well. I would strongly recommend him to anyone and very much recommend doing one of his mock tests. I feel I wouldn't have passed first time if it wasn't for the mock test. It prepares you for the horrible silence you get during your test and not to get too worked up on your mistakes. I honestly can't describe how much it helped. Kate began her EDT training with me and from the start and despite the fact she could well move around, had the familiar bad habits that a lot of students display such as coasting and not enough observations. "Oh where do I start to explain this man. I suppose the beginning is always best. I sat my test almost 3 years ago and failed miserably in Portlaoise. I was previously doing lessons with a long time instructor in Portlaoise before my test which I won't name and he was the most un-professional man I have ever came across. Always talking on his phone and only telling you where to turn at the last minute and then when off the phone, giving out because you didn't take the turn right. I probably would have, if given enough direction as to where I was supposed to go, but look, long story short, I failed. Move on 3 years later, the first attempt shocked my confidence in doing it again, but I needed it and swore I wouldn't be using the first clown for lessons again, I always seen the Rock Solid Driving School car around town and looked at the website loads of times trying to build up the courage to do it, so I finally booked my test again and rang Ray for my first lesson, and God I did not realise just how bad my last instructor was until I sat in a car with this man. The attention to detail, the way he explains things, never seen his phone in his hand once and just the laugh you have with him along the way is great "best man for the one liners" but after taking his instructions and listening to what he thought was the next best thing to do, I passed my test today in Tullamore with an absolute clean sheet. Not one fault to report and I can not thank you enough Ray and to whoever is reading this, I cannot recommend this man enough."

Declan was with me from the very beginning at EDT No. 1. An accomplished full licence motorbike rider, he had never driven a car. He was very quick to learn and got in on good habits very quickly. He purchased his own car in which he did his test and on his very 1st attempt, passed this morning with only two Grade 2 faults against him. Congratulations Declan. Luke was very unfortunate on his 1st attempt at the driving test about 3 weeks ago, picking up a silly Grade 3 for something he knew he did wrong. However, it's by mistakes you learn, and today, Luke was never going to repeat those same errors. He came back with only 4 faults recorded and passed his test. When I first met Conor, he had already did a driving test and failed. His overall driving was very good, but just had a lot of bad habits that needed urgent attention. He was so unlucky with his 2nd attempt and would have had it only for a stupid Grade 3 he picked up on the day. Sarah first came to me to start her EDT Lessons back in October and from the very start, we just got on so well. An extremely polite young lady, who was consistent with her lessons and took on board everything that I was telling her. I just knew when she did her mock test with me yesterday, that she would pass her test 1st time out. Congratulations Sarah. I wish you well in your swimming teachers course and also your summer in the USA.
