When I first met Rebecca back in June this year, she had already completed her 12 EDT Lessons with another instructor. However, she had a mountain of bad habits which were left uncorrected by her previous instructor, and this held her back because of constantly doing them. She tried for a test in Portlaoise and was unlucky after which I told her to come to Tullamore with me. She did and I constantly kept on her back if she was doing anything wrong, and eventually she started coming around to my way of thinking. I could now see a massive difference in her driving ability and the bad habits she once had were slowly starting to disappear. She applied again for a test, but this time in Tullamore and passed. Congratulations Rebecca. You sweated blood and tears for your full licence but what a wonderful Christmas present to get 4 days before the big day. Emma is my niece and a sister of Stephanie who passed her test with me way back in April 2015 & Shane who also passed with me in September 2018. Emma began her EDT Lessons at the end of January this year. After she completed them, she put in for a test but wasn't ready for it and she was let down badly. She re-applied and tried again and was very unfortunate on the day and missed it by just one mark. Despite been utterly gutted, she didn't give up and she applied again. They say the 3rd one is a charm and that's exactly what happened this morning. She went out and aced it by coming back with only 2 Grade 2 marks. Congratulations Emma. I'm so proud of you. You never gave up and I said to you this morning on the pre test lesson that I couldn't do anything more with you. To receive your full licence is a wonderful Christmas present and I wish you every success for 2022. Sorcha began her EDT Lessons back in February this year as a total beginner. She is a sister of Fionn who just recently passed his test in November and also Tadhg who passed way back in July 2013. She completed her EDT Lessons in August and applied for a test and did a further 2 lessons along with the mock test and pre test lesson. Her own car broke down just a couple of weeks from the test and she had to try and get used to my car all over again as she was now taking this out on the test, but had not driven it since August. She improvised well and I was really delighted for her when she came back having passed the test on her very 1st attempt with only 4 Grade 2 marks. Congratulations Sorcha. Arron began his EDT Lessons in September and was already a driver when I met him, but with a lot of bad habits. He had his own automatic car in which we did the lessons and he absolutely flew through them. He soaked up information like a sponge and because he got them finished so quickly, he got a very quick test date. Unfortunately, due to a prior engagement that I was booked in for, I wasn't there on test day but did the pre test lesson the day before. I knew Arron would pass with flying colours unless there was a disaster. An absolute gentleman who I got on so well with right from the get go. "I would highly recommend Ray to anyone setting out on their motoring journey. He has impeccable knowledge of all driving routes and knows exactly what the driving testers are looking for on your test day. I began my EDT lessons in August. Ray was an exceptional teacher, not only did I enjoy my weekly lessons for the driving aspect, but also for the weekly chat with Ray. I recently sat my driving test on December 3rd, and I passed with flying colors (2 marks!). My test performance is solely down to the time I spent with Ray and putting the work in that he suggested for me. The night before my test I did a final session with Ray where he covered all aspects of the test, the questions, basically what would happen from the minute the tester would ring my phone on test day. All the questions and answers he gave to me came up in one way or another on my actual test. I was perfectly prepared and trained to pass first time. Again I highly recommend Ray. Sean began his EDT Lessons on the last day of November 2020 and finished them in May 2021. Because of the backlog of driving tests, he didn't get his test date until November. Daniel began his 12 EDT Lessons with me back in May this year and was very consistent with his lessons and finished them in August. Considering the huge backlog on driving tests, he wasn't waiting all that long and got his test date today. I did the mock test with him last week and I just knew he would pass today on his 1st attempt, unless there was an absolute disaster. Fionn began his 12 EDT Lessons back in June of this year and right from the off, this was a young man determined to get his full licence on his 1st attempt. He was consistent with every one of his lessons and finished them in September and was so lucky to get a quick test date today because of the backlog. He still wasn't taking anything for granted and when he contacted me and told me that he got a test date, he did a refresher lesson followed by the mock test on Tuesday and the final pre test lesson today. As a result, he came back with just 3 blues and had an excellent drive. Fionn is the younger brother of Tadhg who passed his test with me way back in July 2013. Fionn Mathews
I first met Doina way back in February 2020 just as the country was been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. An absolutely lovely young lady and very polite. She had absolutely no driving experience but was so determined to do everything right. She put every effort into each and every one of her lessons and was always asking questions, which is what I love to hear, and then she got her own little car to keep the practice going. She applied for her test and was very unlucky first time out in August. However, she did not let that get her down and she came back fighting, and today she passed on her 2nd attempt. I was so delighted for her, as it certainly wasn't easy for her, because she is due her baby boy in about 2 to 3 weeks and she proudly posed for her picture with her unborn son so that someday he can look back on the day that his mother passed her driving test. Congratulations Doina and best wishes for the future and also for the remainder of your pregnancy. I first met Nicole back in January this year when she began her EDT Lessons. She started off in my car and soon switched to her own car as she found she was more used to that. As her lessons went on, she was following all the instructions with little or no problems. Aodh began his 12 EDT Lessons last Novermber in Portlaoise. From the very start, he was a very polite young man who already had driving skills but just like any other student, bad habits. He quickly learned all the skills to bring him to test standard and he opted to do the Driving Test in Tullamore. He was so unlucky on his 1st attempt on the last day of May as nerves got the better of him. This is very common with students on test day. When he contacted me earlier this week and said he had a 2nd test date for today, I was already booked out with another test and couldn't fit him in for a pre test lesson, but I knew if he overcame his nerves, he would get through and he did. Santa first started her EDT Lessons with me way back in October 2019. She was living in Portarlington at the time and the vast majority of her lessons were done there as she was a total beginner. She was one of the hardest working students I ever had, and the tears after a lesson because she couldn't grasp certain aspects of the lesson only made her stronger. She moved to Portlaoise and purchased her own car in which she mastered everthing I put into her logbook and after we did the mock test yesterday, I told her the test was hers to throw away. She was so good. And today, she went out in the glorious sunshine and went from (her own words, zero to hero) in about a half an hour or so. I was so proud of her and despite COVID-19, she gave me a hug and her husband shook my hand. Congratulations Santa. You nailed it on your 1st attempt. Well done.

"I choose Ray as my driving instructor from one of the highest ratings on google near my location. I started as a complete zero, had no driving experience or knowledge about cars. He was very polite, we started slowly with the "baby steps". From the first day, he said " I hate to see when a student wasting their driving lessons by not practising and improving their skills. Practice practice practice. Every day." I tried my best, but I guess I wasn't the brightest student he got. I cried my eyes out almost after every lesson we had. Not because he was shouting or something, but because he's very straight and strict when it comes to driving. Pointing out every mistake I did. Listen to every word he's saying. There is a reason on everything he says.
I was waiting so long for approval from Ray, saying "You did well today" or "it wasn't bad at all, well done Santa". The turning point was when I got my car. Saying all this it was a great experience. I Pass in my first go, and all because of Ray being so strict in his teaching manner. 10 ⭐ and a little more, highly recommend him. Thank you very much, Ray."

Michelle started her 12 EDT Lessons way back in October 2019. She had very little driving experience but was always committed to doing her very best on each lesson. After a very nervous first test which didn't work out well for her, she applied again for the 2nd time and got back into the training and lost the nerves. I was delighted for her when she passed today. Congratulations Michelle. I wish you every success for the future.

I first met Molly back in July 2020 just as the country was slowly been re-opened after the original COVID-19 lockdown. She was a very pleasant and polite young lady and was great for asking questions which showed a real sign in learning. She finished all her EDT Lessons just before Christmas and passed her test today on her very 1st attempt. Congratulations Molly. Best wishes to you for the future and stay safe on the roads.

I first met Niamh last September. She already had her EDT Lessons completed with another instructor and so we worked on extra lessons to bring her up to Driving Test standard. Niamh was an absolute pleasure to work with, as she took on board everything I was saying and working hard to correct her mistakes. This morning, she passed her test and got her just rewards. Congratulations Niamh and well done. I'm going to miss our chats and our laughs together. Remember, "Driving is for whole life...not just a test". Best wishes for the future.

Niamh Halligan Downey.
I first met Tiernan way back in August 2019 and at that point, he was a complete beginner. He continued his lessons right up to the COVID-19 lockdown in March 2020 and then like so many others, were confined to staying at home. However, he came back with all guns blazing and ready to complete his remaining EDT Lessons. After he completed the mock test with me last week, I knew he would pass today and he did, on his very 1st attempt. Congratulations Tiernan and best wishes for the future.
