After I retired in October 2010 from the Permanent Defence Forces having served over 22.5 years, I realised it was time to put the skills and knowledge that I had acquired over the years as an accident free Army Driver to some good use, and decided upon a career of teaching people how to drive, and getting them up to a standard that would enable them to pass their driving test. This would ensure total independence from the fact of having to be accompanied at all times by a qualified full licence driver and thereby setting them up for the future. My biggest achievements so far have been getting both my children, David & Katie, through their Driving Test on their very 1st attempt, and also for bringing David up to Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) level which now enables him to have a career of his own, and to be able to finally join me in the world of Driving Instruction. 

David is my 23 year old son and is one of the youngest people in Ireland to become a fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) at just 22 years 10 months old back in Februrary 2022. I was so proud to officially announce that after a long and tough 10 month training course, he finally began working with me on Saturday 19 March 2022. David passed his Learner Driving Test on his 1st attempt way back in May 2017 at the tender age of 18, and has his full license now almost 6 years. Since May 2021, David had been in the process of undergoing his Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) training and has, with effect from Tuesday 22 February 2022, passed his final ADI Stage 3 Instruction Ability Test in Athlone, with a massive score of 92.5 out of a possible 100. He had previously acquired a clean sheet, with no faults recorded, in his ADI Stage 2 Driving Test back in November 2021, after an hour and 10 minutes of driving. He is now fully qualified to give instruction on all lessons including EDT Lessons. We are all so proud of him, and I have no doubt that with his soft calm approach, will, without doubt, prove to be a very valuable asset to his very own business.
